Lost Illusions by Xavier Giannoli and Leos Carax's musical Annette drive nominations for the 2022 César Awards.
Nominations for César 2022 announced. The Oscars of French cinema this year see Xavier Giannoli's Lost Illusions in pole position with 15 nominations, followed by the crazy musical by Leos Carax, Annette , at 11 including the nomination for best actor for Adam Driver .
Annette, the opening film of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, sees Adam Driver as standup performer Henry McHenry, who falls in love with opera singer Anne (Marion Cotillard) before their volatile relationship turns upside down.
Another musical, Aline – The voice of love by Valérie Lemercier, inspired by the life of Canadian singer Céline Dion, with 10 nominations, followed by Bac Nord by Cédric Jiminez with 7 nominations and by the winner of the Venice Film Festival, Happening, a share four.
Director and screenwriter Danièle Thompson will host the César award ceremony on February 25, during which a Cèsar for Lifetime Achievement will be awarded to Cate Blanchett.
