The new CinemaX D2 Series from Optoma stands for high quality at relatively affordable prices, although the brand itself does not pass on prices for the Benelux. In the US, the CinemaX D2 without Android TV and CinemaX D2 Smart with Android TV sell for $2,499 and $2,699. What we do know for sure is that both models feature 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160) resolution, 3,000 lumens of brightness and a contrast of 1,800,000:1. At a distance of less than 30 centimeters, the projectors should be able to display an image of about 100 inches. The CinemaX D2 Series utilizes Texas Instruments’ DLP technology and Optoma’s DuraCore laser technology. Both projectors are also equipped with the Enhanced Gaming Mode with which a low input lag and minimal motion blur must be achieved. Gaming can be done in 4K at 60Hz and an input lag of 16ms, or in 1080p at 240Hz with an input lag of 4ms. HDMI eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel) is present, as is support for Dolby Atmos, HDR and RS-232. The Smart version comes with a dongle for Android TV.
