One Punch Man and other anime series will no longer be available on Netflix starting July 2022
The anime One Punch Man has become a subscriber favorite in Netflix’s vast catalog, but now we have to deliver the bad news because the streaming platform will be losing the rights to the series in July.
That’s right, One Punch Man will no longer be available on Netflix from July 1, 2022, in an attempt by the streaming platform to privilege its original productions over those rented to third parties.
The anime, whose third season is awaiting a release date, is licensed in North America by Viz Media. Netflix had only acquired the first season.
Another series coming out of Netflix in July 2022.
The streaming service will also say goodbye to Danmachi – Arrow of the Orion and Magi: Adventure of Sinbad animes. Regarding live-action content, the horror film The Witch, starring Anya Taylor-Joy, also says goodbye; Lucy, with Scarlett Johansson; Top Gun by Tom Cruise.
Also saying goodbye to Netflix are the classics Bridget Jones’s Diary, Almighty 2, The Theory of Everything, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, and World War Z.
Where will One Punch Man be available?
Fans of the adventures of Saitama and company will not have to miss out on this fantastic superhero story, as both seasons will be available through Crunchyroll in Latin America.
Remember that this platform allows you to view its content through the freemium model, that is, the content is available for free, although it will be necessary for you to agree to see invasive advertising.
The first two seasons of One Punch Man were released in October 2015 and April 2019, respectively. So far a renewal has not been confirmed, presumably due to delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
