Good news for “Outer Banks” fans: The filming of the second season has been completed. But when do the new episodes start on Netflix?
The first season of “Outer Banks” started on Netflix in spring 2020 and has regularly been able to assert itself in the top ranking of the streaming service. So it comes as no great surprise that Netflix has decided on a second season. With the official trailer for “Outer Banks” season 2, Netflix has announced the start date of the sequel: The new episodes await us from July 30, 2022.
“Outer Banks” Season 2 Plot: What’s Next?
In “Outer Banks”, a group of young people, called Pogues, go in search of the missing father of their leader John B. In doing so, they reveal the secrets of a legendary treasure. But it’s not just teenagers who chase after the treasure.
Netflix has not yet given any specific information about the action of the coming season. However, an initial forecast can be made based on the finale of Season 1.
– Warning, from here on spoilers will follow for the end of season 1 –
“Outer Banks” ended, how could it be otherwise, with a cliffhanger. After the dramatic events in the last episode, John B and Sarah set off for the Bahamas while the others think that their friends died in the hurricane.
According to an interview, the second season will only play briefly in the Bahamas before the group is reunited at home. Of course, new mysteries and villains should come into play, and finally, the surprising kiss between Kiara and Pope is also a topic.
“Outer Banks” Season 2: Cast.
Except for Charles Esten, who appeared in the country music series “Nashville”, the cast consists largely of newcomers, including Chase Stokes (John B), Madelyn Cline (Sarah), Madison Bailey (Kiara), Jonathan Daviss (Pope), Rudy Pankow (JJ), Austin North (Topper) and Drew Starkey (Rafe), all of whom should return for season two.
“Outer Banks” season 2: will the series continue after that?
The chances are not bad that we can expect another sequel after the release of the second season. Series maker Jonas Pate has already announced that he will have continued the story through to the fourth and even fifth season. So there is still enough material for further extensions.
