The HBO and BBC fantasy drama is gearing up for its third season.

Since its inception in 2019, “His Dark Materials” proved that what had happened to the previous film that wanted to adapt Philip Pullman’s work had been a mistake. HBO and BBC found a way to take the project forward and convince fans that there was hope to see something well done with these characters. Now, they prepare for what will be the third season.

The show headed by Dafne Keen confirmed the start date of its filming along with the addition of the actors who will be added to this installment. In this context, it should be noted that it will be the last one, which will be in charge of adapting the book “El Vallejo lacado”, published in 2000. Six new artists were confirmed for the show.

The third season will redouble the bet when it comes to complexity, with an adventure that will show the protagonists, Lyra and Will, traveling through different worlds in order to meet. Deadline reported that filming began on May 24 and this was confirmed by a photo that the main artists shared showing the clapperboard that kicked off  “His Dark Materials.”

For the third installment, fans of “His Dark Materials” will see six new characters: Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje will be Commander Ogunwe; Jamie Ward, Father Gomez, and Amber Fitzgerald-Woolfe, Ama. the rebel angels Balthamos Baruch and Xaphania will be embodied by Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Simon Harrison and Chipo Chung, respectively. The direction will fall on Amit Gupta, Charles Martin, and Weronika Tofilska.

    The biggest complication.

In a work like “His Dark Materials”, which already had a misstep when the book was translated to the screen, one of the biggest challenges was the way they represented the creatures of fiction. This was confessed by Joel Collins, production designer, in dialogue with “Look Who I Found”: “The daemons were complicated.” In this context, he pointed out that “it was a lot of trial and error” and highlighted: “The book is our bible. Philip Pullman is a very active part of the process, he is an incredible guide. We use the books 100% ”
