Neither the success of the first installment of “Bridgerton” nor the money was enough to convince Rege-Jean Page to return for the second installment. The artist chose other paths and before the new season began his filming work it was officially communicated that he would no longer be part of the cast.
Beyond what the departure of the actor who gave life to the Duke of Hastings may generate in fans, there was always speculation about the real reasons why he had chosen not to renew his contract. For this reason, on more than one occasion he chose to clarify in a personal way why he had chosen to follow another course.
“It was what it had to be. Simon was thought to be a bombshell antagonist during one of the seasons, to be reformed and find true love after Daphne,” Rege-Jean Page had assured in an interview with Variety in May that one of the bravest things about the romance genre is allowing the audience to have a happy ending.
However, the reasons would be in the number of jobs that arose from his success as the duke. Rege-Jean Page was confirmed for several projects, many of which were for the big screen, such as “Dungeon and Dragons”, and now his arrival in a new series has been confirmed. The artist was hired to be part of “The Saint”, which will have its reversal produced by Paramount.
The James Bond heir
In what seems like a tight race, MGM is on the hunt for Daniel Craig’s successor as James Bond. The artist said that “No Time to Die” will be his last time as the queen’s spy and rumors indicate that Rege-Jean Page appears in the long list of candidates to succeed him. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, he did not confirm or deny these versions but said it was an “honor” to be considered.
