HEROICO – Sidney Poitier: documentary about the actor who conquered prejudice – APPLE TV+/.

Sidney Poitier’s Legacy (available on Apple TV+) When Sidney Poitier left the Bahamas for the United States at age 15, he found a country divided by racial segregation. Years later, he would become the face of the black community in Hollywood as the first black man to be acclaimed with the Oscar for best actor, in 1964. Died last January, at 94, the actor has his life and career revisited in the documentary produced by Oprah Winfrey. With old Poitier narrations and testimonials from family, friends and artists such as Denzel Washington and Spike Lee, the production shows how he won in a time of high discrimination on screen.
